The Challenge
A major transportation carrier needed to develop a more enhanced indicator panel that would provide safer monitoring of the braking system for the drivers of their trucks. The current indicator panel did not provide appropriate visibility and required the driver to take their eyes off the road in order to determine the current status of the truck's braking system.

The Lumex Solution
Lumex designed an 11-unit light pipe assembly which could be easily inserted into a front panel mount under the driver's dashboard. Each light pipe on the unit had a textured top in order to diffuse light for uniform brightness from each of the corresponding through-hole LEDs. In addition, each light pipe of the unit was extended out and angled on the top to provide greater visibility from the indicator panel. All elements were software modelled and simulated for effectiveness before prototypes were made.

The Result!
A unique solution that provided a visibly improved safety feature for the braking indicator system. Lumex provided an attractive unit with consistent clarity and quality.
