On a sunny Tuesday afternoon in 1971 the now Financial Director was hit with inspiration - the forethought and vision to create Monolith Electronics. The first of its kind, Monolith Electronics created a whole new concept in technical sales and distribution.

It took a winning sales formula and applied it to businesses across the world. Companies around the globe were now able to quickly and expertly enter the UK market with little expense and time. By working closely with companies in various fields, Monolith Electronics were able to directly build the expertise and knowledge needed to sell any component. Alongside this Monolith held component stock and operated a large distribution network.

In 1989 the company decided to restructure in order to continue to provide its customers with the best 'sales experience' possible, and as a result Tech-Rep UK Ltd was born. Keen to work harder for the client, Monolith Electronics decided its new identity, Tech-Rep UK Ltd, would concentrate on the company's already accomplished core sales expertise, removing the distribution and stock holding elements. This was a monumental step, with focus now centralised around technical representation the organisation could no longer take revenue from product mark-ups.

The company ethos evolved from its profit-focused path into a core client-centred approach concentrated around relationship management. The emphasis was now placed upon cultivating trust between the client-facing sales team and the end user. To enforce this, commission-based sales were scrapped leaving all employees to work together for company profit.
